Did George W. Bush Hear This Father's Scream?
"This was his scream that his Chi-Chi — that's what he called Alex — this is his scream that his child is dead and the war needs to stop," Melida Arredondo said.
Carlos Arredondo set himself afire upon learning that his first-born son had been killed in Iraq.

The Tide Has Turned
The controversy stirred by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and their Republican Party money machine has finally turned the tide in the race for the presidency in 2004. But it hasn't worked out as John Kerry's opponents had hoped. Instead of enlisting the support of the major media with their ad hominem attacks, the media have turned against the Bush campaign and its thinly-disguised surrogates.
Call it a "Pyrrhic Victory." Call it "Winning the Battle and Losing the War." Call it what you will. But whatever you call it, Karl Rove (aka "Bush's Brain") will be looking for a new job next November.

950 and Counting
How do you justify the deaths of 950 American soldiers? George W. Bush justified these deaths by claiming that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction and posed an immediate threat to the United States. Well, it turns out that Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction and posed no threat--immediate or otherwise--to the United States.
So there wasn't, isn't, or will not be any justification for the deaths of 950 American soldiers.

Shooting Myths on the Wing Is An Endless Thing
"Floating lies is costless. Documenting their falsity exhausts resources." Max Sawicky
Bill Clinton won two elections by not exhausting his resources by documenting the falsity of the lies which had been floated about his past.
Michael Dukakis lost one election by not using his resources to document the falsity of the lies which had been floated about his past.
John Kerry faces this fork in the road: should he take it?

Anti-Kerry Book Scribe Sorry for Slurs
Jerry Corsi has apologized for remarks he made at the Free Republic website. He said that his remarks "were meant as a joke." He added: "I don't stand by any of those comments and I apologize if they offended anybody."
I guess we'll have to wait for him to say that his new book, Unfit for Command, was meant as a joke, too, that he doesn't stand by it, and that he apologizes if it offended anybody.
